Advent Prayer

Advent is a time of expectant faith when we recall the first coming of Jesus Christ and look forward in hope to His return. A time to be still and hear afresh the promise of God. Yet sadly, the run-up to Christmas can be so busy (and even frantic) that it can drown out any thought of personal spiritual preparation.
So please take a few minutes each day to slow down, to prayerfully reflect and to know the presence and peace of God in a renewed and meaningful way. To help you start the season of Advent, I would encourage you to use the words of this prayer.  With every blessing Bryan
Almighty God,
Give us grace to cast away the works of darkness
and to put on the armour of light
now in the time of this mortal life
in which your Son Jesus Christ came to us in great humility;
that on the last day
when he shall come again in his glorious majesty
to judge the living and the dead,
we may rise to the life immortal;
through him who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen
