Partnerships

As well as engaging in mission with our local community, Hillsborough Parish also works in partnership with several Christian groups to help make Jesus Christ known in the wider world and to help those struggling with poverty or difficult circumstances in life.

As a Church, we tithe 10% of our income to external organisations and this year, increased our giving to 11%. Although we face our budgetary challenges, we are committed to giving help to those in greater need than we ourselves as a Church.

We have a long-standing partnership with the Church in Egypt and we have funded for several years the training of Pastors from Sudan who then serve among the large refugee community. We also support ‘Open Doors’ in its ministry among Christians in Asia suffering persecution. Nearer home, we have helped fund debt counselling in inner east Belfast by ‘Christians Against Poverty’.

Our Partnerships

We value our partnerships with these various organisations and have found it to be a two-way process. Each visit by a guest speaker from one of our partner organisations always helps us reflect on our own priorities in life and the opportunity to grow further in our own faith.
