Youth Ministry

In Hillsborough Parish we are fortunate to have a large number of teenagers attending our various activities and we are committed to providing a high quality ministry to them.

Our Youth Ministry is overseen by our Young Families Pastor, Julie Currie, and we are delighted to have a great team of committed volunteers as well as Youth Interns deliver the activities. All of whom have gone through child protection vetting.Find out more below.

  • On Sunday mornings during our 10:30am Worship Service (which is our band-led contemporary Service), we have Youth Church for those in P7 to Year 10. This seeks to explain the Christian faith in a manner which is faithful and yet engages with modern culture and is relevant to today’s world.

  • Then on Sunday evening, our Youth Fellowship for those in Year 8 and above. This is our main discipleship ministry for helping teenagers to grow and mature in the Christian faith. We aim to support the young people so that they can achieve a faith which is real and personal to them. Alongside the teaching and spiritual development, there is also time for games, fun and lots of snacks!

Through the strong sense of community and mentoring (through our new mid-week small groups), the Youth Fellowship seeks to provide a safe space. We want to help our young people navigate the challenges of modern life such as peer pressure, social media and the stress of an academic study.

  • In addition to the Sunday activities, we also organise weekly after school drop-in events and weekend camps once per term to help deepen faith and strengthen our sense of community.
